Harmony & Balance
From within
Welcome, I’m Yi-Hsuan 邑瑄
I believe that through the integration of our body and mind, we can set the best conditions for ourselves to embrace the ups and downs in life. Alexander Technique shows me the power of self-regulation and the beauty of co-regulation, and how it can provide the tools to face the fast-changing world we are living in.
If we don’t monitor our thinking or behavioral habits deliberately and regularly, we will be controlled by habits, wanted and unwanted. These could be cultivated in the past whether consciously or subconsciously. By practicing and embodying the Alexander Technique daily, in the long term, we can better function in the stimulating world with clearer vision, groundedness, and flexibility.
I am a Taiwanese flautist and a STAT-certified Alexander Technique teacher trained at the Royal Academy of Music and the Alexander Teacher Training School in London. I am here to provide a safe space to help you discover a harmonious and balanced lifestyle through the power of the transformative Alexander Technique.
What You’ll Learn from Alexander Technique
Capacity to Hold a Safe Space
A safe space offers the chance to develop the capacity to sit with feelings and emotions, allowing one to digest them in your own time. In the absence of such a space, when confronted with challenges, our natural response often shifts to the fight, flight, or freeze mode.
Non-automatic reaction: Pause, Observe, & Change
By practicing the Alexander Technique, you will start noticing your habitual patterns in using the body and the mind. To change or improve anything starts with notice. Holding the ability to pause to identify and understand what needs to be altered or enhanced is the foundation upon which progress is built. By acknowledging your current state, individuals can effectively implement meaningful changes consciously. In a world filled with distractions and noise, the power of deliberate observation cannot be underestimated.
Empathy and Non-judgment
To encounter moments of vulnerability amidst life's complexities is a common experience as a human being. The cultivation of empathy and non-judgment, alongside the ability to create a safe environment for yourself, allows for genuine growth and resilience. This approach empowers you to confront challenges directly, rather than panic or escape. By fostering an empathetic inner dialogue, a better psychophysical alignment can be developed.

Alexander Technique Lessons
- 45 minutes individual lessons: in-person in London (NW2) or online via Zoom
10 Lessons to Start
To start, we recommend at least 10 lessons to have a basic understanding of the Alexander Technique. After this course, you will have a glimpse of the benefits. This is through the improvement of body and mind awareness and movement efficiency by releasing tensed muscles or toning loose ones. This could help reduce muscle strain and enhance ease of movement.
20 Lessons
With 20 lessons, you will gain a good knowledge of the AT and you will see some changes in the ways you conduct yourself psychophysically and holistically. With guidance, you will recognise your coping mechanism bodily and mentally. You will consciously transform habitual behavior and move it in a different direction. By incorporating AT principles into daily practices, the client not only enhances physical well-being but also cultivates mindfulness and self-awareness.
30+ Lessons
Having 30 or more lessons not only equips you with the necessary tools for personal growth but also empowers you to navigate various aspects of your life more effectively. By applying the insights gained from these sessions, participants can cultivate new habits and approaches that contribute to significant improvements in their overall conduct. By embodying the skills learned in your daily activities, whether exercising, doing chores, playing an instrument, or working in front of a computer, individuals can witness tangible and positive changes in how they engage with the world around them.
